Spaghetti avec boulettes de viande

500gr of EXTRA Spaghetti

For minced meatballs:
300 gr ground meat
½ chopped onion
2 cloves garlic
A few sprigs of parsley
Cumin, salt, black pepper
2 to 3 spoons of breadcrumbs
1 egg

For the tomato sauce:
1 kg of fresh crushed tomatoes, or canned
1 tablespoon tomato puree
½ chopped onion
1 garlic clove
A few sprigs of parsley
Salt, black pepper
A bay leaf
2 to 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil.
Pasta of your choice cooked in salt water.


  1. Prepare the minced meatballs: mix well the ground meat with all the ingredients and form the balls
  2. Brown them in a little oil to give them a nice color.
  3. Remove from heat and set aside
  4. In the same oil, brown the chopped onion.
  5. Add the garlic, bay leaf and thyme
  6. Stir a little then add the crushed tomatoes and the spoon of canned tomatoes.
  7. Season and cook well.
  8. Add meatballs back into the pan with tomato sauce, and cook until the sauce be thicken.
  9. At the same time, cook the pasta in boiling salted water.
  10. When the pasta is cooked, drain it and transfer to a large platter, garnish with parmesan cheese, or Gruyere.
